Director, Strategic Manufacturing Services

Manufacturing Workforce Management Practice

The Director of Manufacturing Strategic Services will oversee, coordinate and participate in all phases of the business cycle, starting with understanding a prospective manufacturing client’s workforce management issues, identifying the potential benefits that a manufacturing client can achieve through better workforce management and ensuring those objectives are met through the successful implementation of the chosen solution and through the effective business process changes.

Chief Operating Officer

Required Skills and Background:

  • Work with Manufacturing Strategists, Manufacturing Solutions Director, Project Managers, and Manufacturing Workforce Management Consultants and Managing Partners to determine root causes of client business issues during Business Assessment Process.
  • Develop innovative, client-specific solutions by leveraging manufacturing workforce management best practices and manufacturing workforce management technology.
  • Serve as trusted client advisor to client during manufacturing vendor selection process, including research, evaluation and recommendations for manufacturing labor management technology solutions
  • Help develop and manage partnerships with various third-party organizations that will help solve manufacturing client’ needs and add value to Workforce Insight’s offerings
  • Provide manufacturing and domain expertise to client in the field of Manufacturing Workforce Management/Human Capital Management.
  • Continually stay abreast of ongoing industry developments by, for example, networking and reviewing published information of leading manufacturing workforce management solutions, consulting firms, and industry trade-groups.
  • Act as the front-line contact for client; regularly communicate as necessary with all levels of manufacturing organizations.
  • Manage to utilization and budget, while ensuring that the end result meets the business objectives of the client.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering process through interviews and studies. Assist client in reengineering business operations/processes by utilizing best practices and proven methodologies
  • Provide expertise to client in the area of Change Management.
  • Manage P&L for Manufacturing Vertical
  • Supervise the change management process to make accommodations for extended timeline, shifts in schedules or changes in budget
  • Provide status on the progress of the manufacturing workforce management implementation by identifying, escalating, and resolving issues that may impede or delay the project.
  • Ensure that every manufacturing client is available as a future positive reference for Workforce Insight.
  • Continue to build WFI’s reputation as a Thought Leader in manufacturing workforce management space, publish manufacturing white papers, give seminars, and research the industry to establish industry expertise and leadership.
  • Serve as internal Manufacturing SME with regard to the direction, vendor partnerships and manufacturing technology investments that need to be made as the strategic vertical grows.
  • Develop strategies and criteria to meet client requests regarding manufacturing workforce management.
  • Work with the Managing Partners to develop the standard of performance for the manufacturing workforce management consultants and act as a mentor to those consultants to adhere to the defined performance standards.
  • Participate in or provide input prior to the performance evaluations of other consultants.
  • Continuously look for ways to expand Workforce Insight’s business partnerships through additional project or revenue opportunities with new and existing clients.

Preferred Technical Expertise and Skills:

  • Four year college degree is required. Post graduate studies/advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years leading large and complex, enterprise, software implementations, specifically in the Workforce Management or Human Capital Management space; 7 of which should be in the Manufacturing space.
  • Additional experience with HR, Payroll, Scheduling, and Analytic/Business Intelligence solutions is preferred.
  • Proven strength in developing personal relationships and becoming a trusted business advisor to clients
  • Rigorous planning skills and meticulous follow-through while also remaining flexible
  • Outstanding written communication and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Vertical-specific knowledge of project implementation methodology best practices
  • Skilled in requirements gathering and documentation
  • Expertise in planning complicated projects, budgeting and scheduling of resources
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
